Just Joe, a piece by Joe Castro, is based on the chord changes of Oh Lady, Be Good (music by George Gershwin). The original version of this composition, which follows this chord progression, was by Mary Lou Williams. It was recorded on December 15, 1944, in New York, Arch 1007 B. This arrangement was not renamed, as is customary. This version was also recorded by Coleman Hawkins under the title Rifftide (music by Coleman Hawkins, recorded in Los Angeles on February 25, 1945, Capitol 15335), and later by Thelonious Monk under the name Hackensack (music by Thelonious Monk, recorded in Hackensack on May 11, 1954, Prestige PRLP 180).
